Tropical Certification Diver Course
Enrollment Information

Academic Requirements:

The Tropical Certification, Open Water Diver Course begins with an interesting, interactive CD ROM based, home study program. By completing the course work in the comfort of your own home, on your own time schedule, there is no need to spend hours of your valuable time in a classroom. During your home studies you will have unlimited email access to our instructors.

Once you have completed the academic preperations, you will be supplied with the PADI Certificate of Referral Training that is recognized worldwide. You can take that Certificate to any PADI Resort or Training Facility in the world to complete your course. Prices for the water training will vary from resort to resort around the world.

Our instructional staff are all professionally trained and certified diving instructors. Every one of our instructors has been through weeks of intensive instructor training. Along with being some of the best divers in the world, our staff have also had extensive training in educational theory and philosophy, curriculum development and learning theories, water safety, diving safety and environmental education. In an effort to be prepared for any eventuality, all of our instructors have been trained in water rescues, CPR and First Aid. The majority of them in fact, have completed training and hold certifications as CPR/First Aid instructors.

Dedicated to making diving safe and fun, our staff works hard to make our programs memorable experiences. Their professionalism, level of knowledge, experience and caring attitude will give you an experience you will remember throughout your life. The knowledge and experiences gained will give you the ability to safely enjoy the aquatic environment anywhere in the world.

Dive Requirements:
The Tropical Certification, Open Water Diver Course consists of two and a half or three days of water training. This may vary dependant upon the facility at which you choose to complete your training.

The first half day you will practice in a swimming pool or at a calm, confined water site. The remaining two days will be at an actual dive site used for recreational diving.

You can complete your water training at any of thousands of PADI resorts worldwide. You will also be eligible to complete your training through any of our Scuba Schools training programs in Seattle and the San Francisco Bay area, or with one of our affiliated training centers in Maui, Oahu, Kauai or Cozumel. Please see the Training Schedule for dates of the variety of Scuba Schools training sessions open to you.
