HMCS Saskatchewan: On June 14, 1997, Snake Island became the home for the former HMCS Saskatchewan.
The location of this 366 foot ex-Canadian Navy destroyer escort on the east side of Snake Island makes this
an excellent two-dive destination when combined with Snake Island Wall or the former HMCS Cape Breton.
The former HMCS Cape Breton: a 400 foot World War II Victory class ship, was sunk in
Nanaimo on October 20, 2001. Cape Breton is the Worlds Second Largest Diver-Prepared Artificial Reef! She sank in 3
minutes and 37 seconds and sits upright with a bottom depth of 142 feet and a top of 35 feet.
The newest addition to Nanaimo's underwater fleet is the 157 foot North Sea Rescue Tug the Rivtow Lion.
Sunk February 6, 2005 this ship is a perfect dive, conveniently located in Departure Bay only minutes from the dock.

rent all equipment including tanks & weights. Standard air fills are supplied, Nitrox fills are available at an
