DM - Divemaster Course
Are you ready to join the ranks of the Professionals?
The Scuba Schools' PADI Divemaster course is the most sought after program of training in dive leadership in the world today. If you are thinking of becoming a dive professional, this is the first step. At Seattle Scuba Schools we offer an ongoing Divemaster program that you can join at any time. Once you have become a Divemaster you are ready to move on the Instructor levels. There is a great deal of flexibility in layout of the Instructor courses.
Most people become Instructors through participation in the Instructor Development Course, the IDC. The IDC includes all curriculum included in the Assistant Instructor (AI) and Open Water Instructor (OWSI) Courses. If you are not ready for the full IDC, or do not have time for all of it at one time, it can be broken down and you can do the AI Course and the OWSI Course as separate stand alone courses. You get to choose whether to do it all at one time, or spread it out to better fit your time and financial budget. IDC - Instructor Development Course
The primary route to becoming a PADI Instructor is through the IDC. In the IDC you will participate in all curriculum development, pool training programs and Open Water training programs included in both the Assistant Instructor and Open Water Instructor Courses. Through the IDC you can step directly from Divemaster into your new career as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.
AI - Assistant Instructor Course
The next step up from Divemaster further into the ranks of the professionals is the Assistant Instructor program. Here you will begin to learn the tips, tricks and techniques of teaching diving. This program is offered two or three times a year, based upon demand.
OWSI - Open Water Scuba InstructorAfter completion of the AI Course your next step will be the OWSI Course. In this course you will polish your skills and complete your development to become one of the most well respected dive instructors in the world. You will become a PADI Open Waer Scuba Instructor.
MSDT - Master Scuba Diver TrainerThrough participation in the Seattle Scuba Instructor Development Courses you will already be at the head of the competition. Through completion of the Master Scuba Diver Trainer Course you will take the lead and be well on your way to a successful career as a PADI Instructor.
IDC Staff Instructor (IDC Audit)
Looking toward the Master Instructor or Course Director Ratings? The Staff Instructor course will take you through the training necessary to staff PADI IDC’s. This program enhances your teaching and evaluation skills to bring you up to IDC staff levels.
IDC Staff Instructors may choose to audit an IDC in order to gain valuable and required experience in the PADI Instructor Development process. EFRI - EFR Instructor
This course is open to any individual 18 years of age or older who has completed an EFR Primary and Secondary Care Course within the past 24 months. You do not need to be a PADI Instructor to become an EFR Instructor.
