The next step for Open Water divers!
The Adventure Dives/Advanced Open Water Diver Course is highly customizable, experience
oriented program course designed to give you practical experience in a number of specialty diving areas. Unlike the Open Water
Course, the Adventures in Diving program involves little written testing. You will begin by reading the requisite academic
materials at home on your own time. The material will then be reviewed with your instructor prior to your water
training sessions. The objective of the programs is to give you as much in water time as possible in which to perfect
your diving skills.
Dive Requirements;
You can choose whatever Adventure dives interest you to expand your dive knowledge & skills. Each Adventure Dive
is also the first dive of the corresponding specialty AND will count towards the required dives for the Adventure Diver or
Advanced Open Water certifications.
Adventure Diver: Requires completion of any 3 Adventure dives. This is an optional certification, you do not have
to have been issued the Adventure Diver certification in order to be issued an Advanced Open Water certification.
Advanced Open Water: Requires a minimum of five Adventure Dives which MUST include the
Deep & Underwater Navigation Adventure dives The 3 other dives can be whichever you choose to participate in.
The focus of the other 3 dives will depend
on the local options, but may include a Night Dive, a Peak Performance Buoyancy Dive, a Search and Recovery Dive, a Drift
Dive, a Fish Identification or Underwater Naturalist Dive.
